A typical shoot day at would be a 200-250 bird day, over 4 to 5 drives. We start with tea and coffees in the gun room in our beautiful courtyard settling at 9am, from here we set out in our gun bus that is an old army ambulance, fondly known as Florence. The drives, depending on the time in the season, will be a mix of pheasants and partridges, there will also be regular stops for drinks and snack breaks. We shoot all the way through to about 2pm and then return to the gun room for a two course meal, where our gamekeeper Scott joins us and lets us know how the day went, and will give each of the guns a dressed brace on departure.
